Yesterday, today.
After a week of sun, beach, diving and unlimited rum, beer and pina coladas, coming back to this windy snowy town is a tad hard.
The week was fantastic, the food absolutely terrible (but we expected it) and the diving surreal (like looking straight into crystal clear blue water and fantastic coral gardens).
Our schedule consisted of waking up to the smell of cuban coffee, going for a dive, eating lunch, sunning in the beach and/or napping, dinner, watching the nightly cuban show and drinking more beer, coffee, pina coladas, and cuba libres.
We took an afternoon to visit the nearby town even visiting its national museum (full of military history of course) to climb the bell tower and look at the town from above. We also had dinner at a local family's house consisting of lobster tail half the size of my arm. Yummy.
As great the views were - we had the Caribbean Sea on one side and mountains on the other - you can't deny the poverty in the country.
Still... the snow outside is enough to convince me of jumping on another plane.
On the plus side, I got back in time for the annual cookie party :)
